Title: Liquid Layered Luscious Florals
Description: In this class, we will celebrate that luminous quality of watercolor by practicing the art of gradual layering—building up brilliant, glowing colors one transparent wash at a time, without losing the delicate transparency that makes watercolor so magical. We'll paint a fresh floral composition that seems to glow from within. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on practice, you'll discover techniques such as: wet-on-wet washes for soft, ethereal backgrounds, layering glazes to intensify color while preserving light, and controlling water and pigment ratios for perfect transparency.
Materials Needed: Please bring a photo related to the theme or a drawing for your composition. Please bring watercolor paints, brushes, salt, watercolor paper (140 lb. cold press), cotton hand towel or wash cloth.
